Meath Harp Academy was formed in 2009 by Dearbhail Finnegan
Goal: to create literate and well rounded musicians, well-equipped to perform in a variety of situations.
Individual lesson study forms the core of our curriculum.
This one-to-one relationship combined with a commitment to regular practice enables the students to engage in the process of acquiring the technical and musical skills necessary for mastery of their instrument.
All students are encouraged to supplement the private lesson experience with musicianship and ensemble opportunities to broaden their total musical understanding.
The Meath harp Ensemble was formed in 2003, the members are all students of the Meath Harp Academy. Individually they have excelled in competitions and exams and are growing into an exceptional harp ensenble. Their concert program has a wide variety of genres of music from Irish to light classical to South American. This year alone they have performed in the National Concert Hall, Dublin Castle, University College Dublin, Trim Swift Festival, OCarolan Harp Festival, Drogheda Arts Festival, Art in Action and An Cruit Chruitireachta, Cabra Castle, Slane Castle, Derbyshire Harp Festival.
